Yep, still growing: Mecklenburg adds residents at the usual pace, just shy of 20,000 in 2022-23

Mecklenburg County’s population continued growing at its typical pace last year, rising by 19,626 in the 12-month period ending last July, the Census Bureau reported on Thursday.

That brings the county’s population to 1,163,701, which now allows us to round up to 1.2 million, after years of referring to it as a mere 1.1 million.
