Students at Charlotte Latin School have started a Change.org petition to protest a new cell phone policy that requires them to lock up their phones for the entire school day.
Parents tell us that the school informed families on Tuesday about the new policy, which takes effect next week. It appears to be one of the strictest no-phone policies at Charlotte-area schools. After more than a decade of largely tolerating students’ use of cell phones, many schools are now enacting tougher measures to cut down on the distractions enabled by phones, which can inhibit learning and face-to-face interactions.
