With name and colors settled, Ballantyne Ridge is asking for help choosing a mascot

It’s time to name the new high school going up on Johnston Road in south Charlotte, and its new principal, Mike Miliote, has rolled out a survey with 10 contenders for the public to weigh in on. 

Before we get to the list, here’s some info to know: 

The school board approved the name “Ballantyne Ridge High” earlier this month (even though the way cooler “Big Rock High” was also under consideration). In any event, the school now has official colors: “Carolina blue” is the school’s primary color, with secondary colors of “Clemson orange” and “gauntlet gray.”
