Higher gas and electric bills lead to higher profits for Duke Energy
Cold winter weather this year pushed utility bills of Charlotte residents higher — while also contributing to higher profits for Duke Energy.
The Charlotte-based provider of gas and electricity said Tuesday that its earnings in the first three months of 2025 rose 24% compared with the same period last year, to $1.37B.
