Hooters’ skimpy payments prompt $1.7M lawsuit from Hendrick Motorsports

The NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsports is suing Hooters, saying the restaurant chain known for its scantily clad waitresses reneged on paying for its sponsorship deal.

According to a lawsuit filed July 30 in Mecklenburg County Superior Court, Hendrick and Hooters of America signed a sponsorship agreement in 2018 and renewed it several times. It called for Hooters to pay $1.75M for 2024, spread across four payments.
