It's time to vote: Polls are open until 7:30pm
Get the info you need to make an informed choice; school bond, school board, City Council
It’s Election Day.
No, no big national or state races are on the ballot. Today, it’s all local.
By tonight, we should know the answers to these questions:
Will voters approve a $2.5B bond referendum for school construction in Mecklenburg County — which would replace substandard buildings and require a tax increase?
Who will run the city of Charlotte — and will Democrats expand their City Council majority by picking up a seat in south Charlotte’s District 6?
Who will be three of the nine school board members guiding Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for the next four years, as CMS seeks to improve student achievement?
You can help decide. Polls are open now, until 7:30 p.m.
The Ledger has all the info you need on the local races for 2023 — including backgrounds and questionnaires of candidates for Charlotte City Council and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. We can steer you toward information from a variety of sources that will help inform your vote.
