Mecklenburg County officials have named City of Memphis parks director Nick Walker as the county’s new Park & Recreation Department director.
The announcement was made to county staff Tuesday in a letter from assistant county manager Leslie Johnson obtained by The Ledger. Johnson had been filling in as director since the June 30 retirement of Lee Jones, who had been with the department for 20 years and had served as director since 2018.
