by Tony Mecia
Mecklenburg County has released a copy of its proposed rules for mask-wearing.
Commissioners are meeting this afternoon and are expected to adopt the new rules.
You can read the full document for yourself here. (It’s a PDF file)
You can also find it by going to the agenda for today’s meeting.
Summary: It generally requires people ages 4 and up to wear face coverings “when indoors in all businesses, establishments and public places.” It includes 12 exceptions, including those for health and safety, religious activities and active eating and drinking.
Rules for Charlotte and unincorporated Mecklenburg County are expected to take effect today at 5 p.m. Those will be adopted by proclamation and will be interim rules until the county’s rules take effect in 10 days.
FAQ: The county earlier released more information on the rules and how they work. You can read that here.
