Parents rally for return of middle school athletic director who was suspended and assigned to a different school

Dozens of parents at Carmel Middle School are organizing in support of former athletic director and PE teacher Linden Beasley, who they say was wrongly suspended and reassigned to another Charlotte-Mecklenburg school after a confrontation with a fellow PE teacher at the school.

CMS records requested by The Ledger show that Beasley, 24, was hired by CMS in August 2023 as a PE teacher at Carmel Middle school and that she was suspended with pay on Jan. 14. Records show that she returned to work on Jan. 31 and was reassigned to Southwest Middle School.

Parents say she was named as athletic director before school started last August, after Carmel Middle’s former athletic director was transferred to the new Ballantyne Ridge High School.
