South Charlotte post office shuffle: Is a new post office headed to the bustling Trader Joe’s shopping center in Piper Glen?
Last September, the U.S. Postal Service announced plans to close the post office on Providence Road in the Rea Farms area and move it elsewhere, and now it appears that a new post office could be heading to a former Petco that sits next to Trader Joe’s on Rea Road in Piper Glen.
A USPS spokesman told The Ledger he was “not aware of a postal facility coming to that location,” but one of the leasing agents for the shopping center, Thomas Wilkinson with Lat Purser & Associates, told The Ledger that the public was made aware that USPS planned to sign a lease for the former Petco space several months ago.
