Emily Jensen Wheeler is the new executive director of Dress for Success Charlotte, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women in the workforce with a network of support, business attire and development tools. Emily joined Dress for Success in January of 2024.

During the month of March, Dress for Success Charlotte hosts its biggest fundraiser of the year, the “Your Hour Her Power” campaign.

Every day this month, female leaders across Charlotte will be asking people to donate one hour of their salaries to support Dress for Success Charlotte’s mission to provide services and programs that help women forge and sustain careers.

The Ledger’s Cristina Bolling is participating in the campaign, and she sat down with Emily to talk about her new role and how Dress for Success Charlotte continues to impact women in Charlotte. They also discuss:

  • Emily's background in higher education and nonprofit program management.

  • Services that Dress for Success Charlotte offers.

  • How Dress for Success has impacted women in Charlotte.

  • Future plans for Dress for Success Charlotte as it searches for a new location.

  • What to expect with the Your Hour Her Power campaign.

  • Ways to get involved.

We hope you enjoy the conversation with Emily Jensen Wheeler.
