Town chooses a bunch of oddities to be opened in 2074: assortments of phones, police badge, town council minutes
Sometimes it’s fun to look forward in the midst of looking back, so in celebration of its 150th anniversary, the town of Pineville created a time capsule that will sit in a display cabinet in town hall until it is opened on Feb. 28, 2074.
The capsule itself is a pine box with zebra wood inlay made by town employee Matt McClure. It’s got an epoxy inlay of the town emblem, with a torched finish that gives it a natural, archival look.
As for what’s inside? Members of the town’s 150th Anniversary Committee decided on its contents, town clerk Lisa Snyder told The Ledger. See what you think of these:
