Ways of Life: an obituaries newsletter celebrating the lives of Charlotteans
Each Tuesday, we'll bring you stories that honor the many ways our friends, neighbors and loved ones lived their lives.
Ways of Life is a weekly obituaries newsletter published by The Charlotte Ledger devoted to telling the inspiring, thought-provoking and often-heartwarming stories of people who have died recently in our community.
Our goal is simple: to build community by highlighting the lives of people who perhaps didn’t make headlines, but made an impact on Charlotte in ways big and small.
We will bring these personal stories to you each Tuesday by experienced writers who will feature one special life each week in a reported obituary, followed by condensed obituaries of others who have passed, with links to their full obituaries on funeral home websites and Legacy.com.
One of our featured writers for Ways of Life will be longtime Charlotte faith and obituaries writer Ken Garfield. And because we consider what we’re doing to be a benefit for the community, we will never ask grieving families to pay to have their loved ones included.
Ways of Life is sent as an email each Tuesday and is a no-additional-cost benefit for paying Ledger members. The newsletters will also be available on a dedicated page on The Ledger’s website.
You can sign up for it through The Charlotte Ledger (current Ledger paying members will receive it automatically unless they opt out):
Few things bring a community together like honoring the lives of those we mourn, so we consider it a privilege to share these stories, which we hope will live on for generations to come.
