Say, is there any rumblings that since Siemens is opening shop in Lexington, we’d explore a DMU or EMU on the red line like the Siemens Desiro? I remember the demonstration between Davidson and Huntersville back in 96ish- that was a sweet ride back then that I’m sure would be very popular today.
The fact that the operator of the derailed train is "no longer an employee" is extremely concerning. I think that would be something for a CLT news organization to look into, because if he was fired or forced out, that's no way to have a safety culture. It just leads to a culture of fear and covering up mistakes.
