Would not the future development (particularly residential development) created by the newly favored route be adding future riders? Future development (as a priority) does not seem to be an alternative goal over increased ridership. The development would provide the riders, would it not?
I think it would, yes. And I believe a lot of that would be taken into account with a ridership analysis. But it's still mind-boggling that city council would back a route with no data on ridership. That is the end-all-be-all for the Federal Transit Administration. An remember, the Gold Line route also reaches Charlotte Gateway station.
