I don't understand how the existing buildings have not been maintained. Why should we build new buildings when the school boards have proven they cannot take care of what they have?

Thanks, Rick. The school board would probably say that it is doing the best it can with the money it gets, but point out that it doesn't control how much money it gets for maintenance. Opponents of the bonds have said CMS should take a closer look at that maintenance money and see if it can be spent better, or on some of the things CMS is now asking for.

Thanks Tony. Sounds like CMS's budgeting process is not well thought out. $2.5 billion is way too much money to put in the hands of an organization that has demonstrated an inability to maintain what they have.
