Wegmans Food Market, a N.Y.-based grocery store chain, recently announced its first Charlotte area location in the Ballantyne area. The store, which is expected to open in the third quarter of 2026, will be about 110,000 s.f., which is larger than most grocery stores in the area.
On this episode of The Charlotte Ledger Podcast, Ledger managing editor Cristina Bolling talks to Hallie Johnston, the North Carolina district manager of Wegmans, about:
What shoppers can expect.
How Wegmans selected Ballantyne for its first Charlotte store.
Why Charlotteans are excited about the announcement of the new store.
How many jobs the new store will create in Charlotte.
If Wegmans plans to open more stores in the Charlotte market.
We hope you enjoy the conversation with Hallie Johnston.
