Thank you for reporting like this. Much easier to follow then the live debate. By the way, I think Christina should get a week off for having to be there.

Thank you Cristina ,very much appreciate you. Keep up the great work! On another note, as a former Polo Ridge parent what was sprung on us at the 11th hour was so unfair and shady by CMS. All South CLT schools need some skin in the game. 2 new schools = 2 much.

Had to subscribe tonight just because the school board meeting blog has allowed me to avoid watching the chaos and put a baseball game on instead while still being able to keep up.

Cline said she's support the plan. But then voted no.

I had to go back and watch to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. She said: "I will support this plan, and I ask you to support it, too." Then voted no.

It feels like some decisions the board made are skewed to favor some neighborhoods. It's so obvious, they don't want to hurt some neighborhood values but disregarding others. I'm very disappointed in how this board operates at the expense of kids and family units. Let's put more people on the roads instead of being logical in their thinking. Kids need less time getting to school and more time IN school!

I’m disgusted by what I’m hearing and seeing these people say. Totally 1st world problems! Going to new schools and too many sweatshirts are realistic reason for changing what school they attend? Seriously? Beyond entitled. Embarrassed by this entire group of speakers.

Completely agree with this. Having the affluence to rent a charter bus to complain about new schools reeks of entitlement. These folks are blindsided because they didn't participate in the feedback meetings. It was clear to all of us that participated that the maps would change with each revision. They specifically want to send Ballantyne Elementary to Ardrey Kell. They have no problem putting "the burden" on those families. I bet East Meck, West Charlotte, South Meck, etc would kill for brand new facilities. My kids grandparents went to those schools.
